Lucas started working at New Life in March of 2015.  In the past, Lucas has worked in a variety of capacities in the ministry, but at New Life is applying his passion for helping people take “next steps” by leading the adult discipleship program: training Life Group leaders, teaching at weekend services and working with the First Impressions Team to help people move from “first-time guests” to “New Life family members.”  Lucas and his wife, Charissa, have four children, and they love spending time together as a family. Lucas is an avid Sci-fi fan, book nerd, comic geek, and Star Wars fanatic.

Cameron Lazíer

Student Ministries Pastor

Cameron (Also known as Cam) grew up in Tampa, Florida. He has a deep passion for the next generation, and that passion has been evident in his life ever since he was young. When he was a freshman at Auburn University, God called him into full-time ministry, specifically youth ministry, with the desire to see adult leaders passionate about teenagers and to see teenagers passionate about Jesus. In 2018, after studying Youth & Family Ministries at Southeastern University (SEU), God called him from the Sunshine State to the Kansas City metro area to serve as a Youth Pastor. It is here where he met his lovely wife, Caycee, whom he married in April 2020.

Cameron has been on staff at New Life since the spring of 2020.

In his free time, Cameron enjoys lifting weights, spending time with family & friends, and of course, taking naps.

Jake Reeves

Associate Pastor of Creative Arts

Jake grew up in Clay Center, KS where he was raised up in the church singing hymns and eventually old school choruses (via transparencies of course). He actually fought going into vocational ministry but God slowly moved him into serving, working part-time, and eventually taking the dive into full-time ministry in 2016. God continually has built and affirmed a passion in him for intimate, real, and powerful worship through the arts. He graduated from Central Christian College in McPherson, KS and worked in the turfgrass industry while God worked on his heart. Recently, he completed his masters in Bible and Theology from Lincoln Christian University. He and his wife, Sarah, were married in 2010 and have a daughter.

Jake loves riding his One Wheel around town, eating seafood for days, and caring way too much about his lawn.
